Joy of Sets Blog Hop – Christmas Music

This month the final hop for the Joy of Sets and the theme is Christmas Music. I choose to create a card using “White Christmas” as my theme because it’s one of my favorite songs and movies.

The poinsettia is die cut out of Whisper White Thick cardstock and vellum. I used a blending brush to add Balmy Blue ink to the centers for some definition. Then I layered everything together. I don’t think my photography skills do this card justice, I really like how it turned out.

The Joy of Sets October Blog Hop

I don’t have many fall type stamp sets so I chose to take a tree and color it for fall.

Using my Stamparatus so I could repeatedly stamp in the same spot, I stamped the tree using Mango Melody. Next colored the trunk with my Early Espresso marker and stamped again. Lastly, I colored various areas of the tree with my Pumpkin Pie marker stamping after each area to see where else I wanted the darker orange. The tree looked too stark on the white cardstock so I inked the bottom with Mossy Meadow and the top with Balmy Blue just to give the idea of grass and sky.

I added my patterned paper to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of black cardstock and then embossed them together. I cut my patterned paper piece a little larger than I ended up wanting it so I put that extra piece on the inside.

The Joy of Sets Blog Hop – Weddings

This month’s Joy of Sets Blog Hop theme is Weddings. I was looking through my stamp sets and found that Dandelion Wishes had a wedding sentiment. I like to go simple and elegant for wedding cards so the card is mostly Very Vanilla with Early Espresso for the ink and the faux suede ribbon.

For the bow, I used about 4″ of ribbon glued with the ends in the middle of the back and about 3/4″ of ribbon wrapped around and glued. You need to use a clothespin or reverse tweezers to hold the ribbon in place while it sets. I then glued it to the front of the card and put a few clear blocks on top to weigh it down while it dried.

Joy of Sets Blog Hop – Reading is FONTS-amental

I love fonts and I especially love them mixed. I choose this sentiment as my focal point because of that mix. I also like how the font works with the die cut.

To give it a little of interest, I used an embossing folder for the backgrounds and some dimensionals to allow for shadows.

Joy of Sets May Blog Hop

I just love how this sentiment turned out! I stamped it in Blackberry Bliss, then in Whisper White and heat embossed using clear embossing powder. I then stamped with Whisper White again and heat embossed using clear embossing powder and it came out so interesting. It pulled the Blackberry Bliss and the Old Olive into the final colors. I used Old Olive to stamp the stems. The little flowers are Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo.

I followed a sketch from Inspire. Create. Challenges.

The Joy of Sets Blog Hop – Birthday

I’m joining in the Joy of Sets Blog Hop again this month and our theme is birthday. I created these two birthday cards using the June 2019 sketch from Sheetload of Cards. I learned about it from Cards for Soldiers.

I started with the Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper because I wanted to do a red balloon but Crushed Curry is really not my favorite color so I decided to pull in the See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper for a pretty background instead.
