Technique Squad Blog Hop – Pull Tab

This month’s technique is the Pull Tab. I watched a Jennifer McGuire’s video on this but since I didn’t have the die set she used, I made my own way to do it. I ended up making two cards because I was sad the dragonfly’s wings were hidden behind the hill and because I came up with an idea on hiding a gnome behind the mushroom house.

Winter Gnome

I created this card for a swap based on the August 2022 Sheetload of cards. I stamped the Gnome on Shimmery White cardstock using Jet Black Stazon then watercolored it with Pool Party, Night of Navy, Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, and Early Espresso. To get the ink to watercolor, I tapped the ink pad on a clear block. The pearls were colored with the dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend.

Technique Squad Blog Hop – Pop Up Cards

This month for the Technique Squad Blog Hop we are doing Pop-Up cards. I’ve done a few variations of pop-up cards in the past, but this is the first time I’ve tried this version. I like that it can lay flat, and the pop up still works.

Gnome Birthday

There are loads of people in my family with July birthdays so I needed another card so out came the gnomes again. This is almost a one layer card, it could have been if I didn’t use the Stampin’ Blends to color in the images. I started by stamping the gnome then I created a mask to cover him before stamping the mushroom house. For the background, I masked both images before using ink and blending brushes to create the background. I die cut a piece of basic white cardstock with the rounded Basic Border and used it to mask off the areas I didn’t want to color. Then I stamped some grass and colored in the images.

Birthday Card for my Son

My son turned 15 on Sunday (whoops not yesterday as i previously had) and he has always like fun fold cards. This year I tried someting huge, I created a Expanding Accordian Fold card based on Sam Calcott’s directions at Mixed Up Craft.
