Fun with the August 2019 Paper Pumpkin

Okay, I admit, I get behind on my monthly Paper Pumpkin kits. *gasp* I especially get behind when the kit is a treat kit and not a standard card kit. My fun with Paper Pumpkin is creating them exactly as directed because it’s relaxing but the treat kits require more thought. I took the August 2019 kit and made cards from it trying to use every single piece. I also made a version of the last card using current Stampin’ Up! products so you can recreate it.

For the first two cards, I made the tags as directed then added them to a piece of embossed cardstock and a cardbase. (The sentiment is from the retired Butterfly Basics stamp set.)

These next two cards are basically the same except I ran out of the Crumb Cake leaves and had to use the die cut from the Animal Friends dies. I die cut the Whisper White cardstock using the biggest Stitched Shapes circle die and stamped it with a stamp from the kit. My banner is a 2″ piece of Pretty Peacock that I punched with the Banner Triple punch.

Here’s where I took a turn. The kit came with these small labels that didn’t have a purpose so I used them with some of the other leftover pieces to create this card. I did have to pull out the leaf punch to fill in for the die cut in the kit.

And if you didn’t have the kit, you can make this card with current Stampin’ Up! products. I die cut the leaf and inked it with Crushed Curry and Merry Merlot.

Breathtaking Bouquet with a Parisian Flourish

Happy New Year!

December really got away from me but I should be back to posting twice a week now.  For this card I’m using the new Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp and the Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder that are available tomorrow.

The Breathtaking Bouquet image is stamped using Versamark on watercolor paper and embossed with white embossing powder.  I was working on an image for my next class but this one didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped so I cut it up to use on this sketch.  The colors are from watercolor pigments that I sprinkled on it and sprayed with water.  The edge of the Gorgeous Grape card base is covered with (probably too much) Wink of Stella.

Paper Pumpkin – Day by Day kit

Happy New Year!  I’m back today with an alternative for the December 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I really wanted to have the year on each of the months and a picture that went with them so here is what I came up with.  (My craft table is a mess right now, you will see why when you see how many stamp sets I used.)

I used the retired Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper on a piece of chipboard I saved from the kit.  I ALWAYS save my chipboard, you never know when you will need it.  The rings are 1/2″ book rings and I used my Crop-a-dile to punch the holes in the chipboard.  I cut the chipboard on my guillotine style cutter after adding the DSP (apparently I need to clean the blade to get a sharper cut).  The banner for each year is from Pick A Pennant and done using the Stamparatus.

The chipboard is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ front and back.  The base is 4″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 1″, 2″, & 3″ then folded as above.  I attached the chipboard using Beacon 3 in 1 glue.

 

Colorful Seasons

My favorite part of this set of stamps and dies is the snowflakes but I didn’t think my class would like to do snowflakes in August so Adirondack chair it is.  🙂  I used a card by Patty Bennett as my inspiration and created this card.

Measurements:

Whisper White Thick	5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”, 3 ¾” x 5”
Berry Burst	4 1/8” x 5 3/8”
Designer Series Paper (DSP)	2” x 2 ¼” for die cut
Whisper White	3 ¾” x 5” with a die cut circle in the middle

Instructions:

1. Using the largest Stitched Shapes framelit, die cut a circle in the middle of the piece of Whisper White cardstock. Attach this to the 3 ¾” x 5” piece of Whisper White Thick cardstock with washi tape.  Using Powder Pink ink, sponge inside the circle.  Remove the stencil
2. Using Early Espresso ink, stamp the branch twice and stamp the sentiment.
3. Using Berry Burst ink, stamp the flowers a few times to fill in the branches.
4. Attach a piece of adhesive sheet to the back of the Wood Textures DSP. Die cut the Adirondack chair out of the Wood Textures DSP.  Add to the card panel.
5. Attach the Whisper White Thick cardstock panel to the Berry Burst cardstock.
6. Tie a bow in the middle of the Berry Burst ribbon and attach to the panel using a mini glue dot under the bow and SNAIL behind the panel. (I used a bow maker to tie the bow.)
7. Attach panel to cardbase.

#TGIFC153 Bonus Week Challenge

Today I’m playing along with the TGIF Challenge and I knew exactly which card I was going to CASE!  I’d seen it on the Demonstrator Planning Place Facebook group earlier and LOVED IT!  Stesha used the Springtime Florals DSP from Sale-a-Bration which I sadly didn’t get but that gave me the opportunity to try and recreate it using current Stampin’ Up! supplies.

Let It Snow Scrapbook Layout

I saw Rachel’s Layout here and I had to try it.  Now if you know me, you know how hard it is for me to do anything that isn’t straight and lined up.  This page was a challenge for me.  I ended up popping up the middle mats on each page with Stampin’ Dimensionals so I could just slide the other mats under.  The middle mats are pretty much centered on the page so I could handle adding the other mats at angles.  It was rough!  🙂

The “Let it snow” stamp is from the November Paper Pumpkin kit but I didn’t have anything else like it.  Paper Pumpkin has some great stamp sets each month, it’s worth it to sign up for the stamp set and stampin’ spot alone!

The Whisper White photo mats are 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ and the Dapper Denim photo mats are 4″ x 5 1/2″.  For the Dapper Denim stamped snowflakes, I inked once and stamped three times to get a progressively lighter shade.
