Enjoy the Journey

I pulled out a sheet of my new Enjoy the Journey paper pack and made these various cards from it.

I started by cutting my paper into six different card fronts. The rectangles are 4″ x 5 1/4″.

My first card is just stamps, ink, and paper. I let the pretty paper do all the work for me.

For the second set of cards, I added clouds, trees, and what is supposed to be stars but they are looking more like snow. 🙂 I also added heat embossing for the sentiments and stars.

For my final cards, I die cut the sentiment label, punch a hole in each side, and threaded some linen thread through. To add support for the linen thread, I glued the patterned paper to a piece of thick white cardstock.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Art Gallery, Beauty of Friendship, Friends are like Seashells, Mountain Air, Shaded Summer
Die Cutting & Embossing – Majestic Mountain, & Something Fancy dies
Ink – Coastal Cabana, Garden Green, Smoky Slate, Starry Sky, & Versamark stamp pads
Paper –Basic White, Basic White Thick, Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather, & Starry Sky cardstock; Enjoy the Journey 12″x12″ Designer Series Paper

Technique Squad Blog Hop – Pull Tab

This month’s technique is the Pull Tab. I watched a Jennifer McGuire’s video on this but since I didn’t have the die set she used, I made my own way to do it. I ended up making two cards because I was sad the dragonfly’s wings were hidden behind the hill and because I came up with an idea on hiding a gnome behind the mushroom house.

Now, head over and see what Carole Garrison came up with.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – February 2017 Paper Pumpkin (for the PULL), Art Gallery, Dragonfly Garden, Happy Hedgehogs, Kindest Gnomes,
Die Cutting & Embossing – Basic Borders, Floral Gallery, Gnomes, & Stitched Rectangles dies
Punches – Dragonflies punch
Ink – Balmy Blue, Garden Green, Pacific Point, & Memento Tuxedo Black stamp pads
Paper – Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper; Basic White Thick & Balmy Blue cardstock; Window Sheets
Accents & Embellishments – Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems
Coloring Tools – Blending Brushes, clear Wink of Stella
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Bone Folder, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick, Paper Snips
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, liquid glue

Fallish Birthday Card

This card was inspired by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 496. I tried to go for a fall feel and since today is my birthday, I decided to make this a birthday card (not to mention I mostly send birthday cards).

There are six die sets and two embossing folders for this card, two were just to get the embellishment leaves. For the circle, I used the largest circle from the Beautiful Shapes dies and then used a circle that fit from the Layering Circles dies to create a more wreath shape. I inked the Twigs & Sprigs embossing folder with white ink before doing the hybrid emobssing & die cutting. The same folder was used on the piece of vellum, not that you can see much of it. 🙂 The piece of Calypso Coral was embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder and then a blending brush was used to add ink for dimension.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Art Gallery
Die Cutting & Embossing – Beautiful Shapes dies, Flowers of Home dies, Layering Circles dies, Stitched Rectangle dies, Stylish Shapes dies, Twigs & Sprigs Hybrid embossing folder & die, Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder
Ink – Calypso Coral, Old Olive, & Whisper White stamp pads
Paper – Basic White Thick, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Soft Suede, & Velllum cardstock; Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper
Accents & Embellishments – Elegant Faceted Gems
Coloring Tools – Blending Brush
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Bone Folder, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, Adhesive Sheets

Beyond the Horizon Inspired Card

This past weekend I was working through some Paper Pumpkin kits I haven’t gotten to yet and I did the Beyond the Horizon kit from March. After creating the cards in the kit, I wanted to create a mountain sunset card.

I started by inking the bottom of the Shimmery White cardstock with Garden Green. (This was pointless because I covered it up but I didn’t know that at the time.) Next I aded some Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, and Night of Navy layers going up to the sky.

The mountains were stamped with black ink on Basic Gray and the trees were stamped with black ink on Garden Green. I attached them to the panel, then put the panel on the cardbase. The silver is 1/8″ strips that I glued above and below the panel.

My layout was inspired by Global Design Project #366

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Art Gallery, Mountain Air
Die Cutting & Embossing – Majestic Mountain dies, Potted Succulents die
Ink – Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Melon Mambo, Night of Navy, Memento Tuxedo Black stamp pads
Paper – Basic White, Night of Navy, & Shimmery White cardstock; Silver Foil Specialty Pack
Coloring Tools – Blending Brushes
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Bone Folder, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, liquid glue

Celebrating Susan’s 25th Stampaversary

Today we are celebrating Susan Campfield’s 25th Anniversary of joining Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator. There are a number of us hopping along and showing our version of her recent Pop-out Bendy fun fold card. She did a video for it so if you would like to make your own I recommend watching it.

For mine, I used the Sale-a-bration FREE Rings of Love patterned paper, a couple of stamp sets, and a few inks.

I love the sheet of paper with the mushrooms on it so my card was based around that. I pulled out my Happy Hedgehogs stamp set for the tree, butterfly, and grass and colored it in with my Stampin’ Blends. Then I used a blending brush to add Balmy Blue ink for the sky. The die cut mushrooms on the inside were cut from white cardstock and colored with a sponge dauber and Poppy Parade ink before covering with Wink of Stella.

Both my front panel on the belly band and my pop-up inside were inspired by Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Sketch 568.

Gnome Birthday

There are loads of people in my family with July birthdays so I needed another card so out came the gnomes again. This is almost a one layer card, it could have been if I didn’t use the Stampin’ Blends to color in the images. I started by stamping the gnome then I created a mask to cover him before stamping the mushroom house. For the background, I masked both images before using ink and blending brushes to create the background. I die cut a piece of basic white cardstock with the rounded Basic Border and used it to mask off the areas I didn’t want to color. Then I stamped some grass and colored in the images.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Art Gallery, Happy Hedgehogs, Kindest Gnomes
Die Cutting & Embossing – Basic Borders dies
Ink – Balmy Blue stamp pad, Granny Apple Green stamp pad, Memento Tuxedo Black stamp pad
Paper – Basic White cardstock, Night of Navy cardstock
Coloring Tools – Balmy Blue Light, Bronze, Cherry Cobbler Dark, Crumb Cake Light & Dark, Ivory, Night of Navy Light & Dark, and Smoky Slate Light & Dark Stampin’ Blends; Blending Brushes
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Bone Folder, Stamparatus

Reverse Easel Fold Card

I saw a reverse easel card by Vickie Lou Designs and I wanted to recreated it but in a different size. I modified her card to be 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ when folded. Since it’s graduation time, I chose to make a congratulations card that is somewhat masculine.

Measurements:

Gray Granite cardstock4 ¼” x 11”, score at 2 ¾” flip score at 5 ½”; 3 ½” x 4 ½”; 1” x 3”
Basic White cardstock(2) 3 ½” x 4 ½”, 1” x 3”
Night of Navy cardstock2 ½” x 4”
Sun Prints Designer Series Paper (DSP)4” x 5 ¼”

Instructions:

  1. Using Evening Evergreen ink, stamp the tree image on one of the pieces of Basic white cardstock and die cut using stitched rectangle die.
  2. Using Night of Navy ink, stamp your desired greeting on the small piece of Basic White cardstock and die cut using the stitched rectangle die.
  3. Using the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder, emboss the piece of Night of Navy cardstock.
  4. Die cut the Gray Granite layers and the inside piece of Basic White using the Stitched Rectangles dies.
  5. Fold the scored piece of Gray Granite cardstock in half at the 5 ½” score line and then fold back on the 2 ¾” score line.
  6. Adhere the DSP to the inside large section.
  7. Adhere the embossed piece of Night of Navy to the folded back card base.
  8. Adhere the stamped and die cut Basic White cardstock to the Gray Granite layer then use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere this panel to the folded back part of the cardbase.
  9. Adhere the inside piece of Basic White to the DSP making sure it’s behind the Gray Granite panel.
  10. Adhere the Basic White stamped greeting piece to the Gray Granite layer.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere to the inside of the cardbase making sure to keep it behind the front panel.
  11. Add some Polished Dots around the stamped image.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Amazing Silhouettes, Art Gallery
Die Cutting & Embossing – Stitched Rectangle dies, Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder
Ink – Evening Evergreen stamp pad, Night of Navy stamp pad
Paper – Sun Prints Designer Series Paper, Basic White cardstock, Gray Granite cardstock, Night of Navy cardstock

You Are Lovely

I’m still playing with the Art Gallery stamps and dies. Today I’m using Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 463. The flowers were stamped using Magenta Madness stamped off once and then full strength stamping for the highlight stamp. I cut the flowers out and glued them to a piece I’d stamped using Just Jade. Behind the flowers is a label I die cut out of vellum. I used the Stitched Greenery die on the piece of gold foil for some texture.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Art Gallery
Die Cutting & Embossing – Floral Gallery dies, Hippo & Friends dies, Stitched Greenery die
Ink – Just Jade stamp pad, Magenta Madness stamp pad
Paper – Basic White cardstock, Basic White Thick cardstock, Magenta Madness cardstock, Gold Foil sheets, Vellum cardstock, Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Bone Folder, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, liquid glue
