Thank You Snow Much

I needed a thank you card and I pulled out the Peaceful Place pack of patterned paper. It really is one of the easiest paper packs to create beautiful cards. You don’t need to do anything with the patterned paper, it’s just gorgeous on it’s own. I used the Snowflake Wishes stamp set for the sentiment and the So Many Snowflakes dies to cut snow flakes out of the Snowy White Velvet sheets. (They are so fuzzy.) It’s hard to see but there is even a ribbon on the card. I tend to buy ribbon but not use it.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Snowflake Wishes
Die Cutting & Embossing – So Many Snowflakes, Layering Circles dies
Ink – Basic Gray ink pad
Paper – Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper, Basic White cardstock, Basic Gray cardstock, Snowy White Velvet sheets
Accents & Embellishments – White Glittered Organdy Ribbon
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Stampin’ Dimensionals, liquid glue

Stamping INKspirations July Blog Hop

Nothing like trying to get a head start on preparing for the upcoming December festivities! Christmas in July is this month’s theme!

I pulled out my Snowflake Wishes stamp set and decided to create an emboss resist card. I love using non-traditional colors for Christmas cards, especially Pool Party and Highland Heather. This time I went for a monochromatic using Highland Heather.

First I laid out my snowflakes on my Stamparatus and used Versamark to stamp them on a piece of white cardstock. Then I embossed with clear embossing powder. Finally I used a blending brush to add Highland Heather ink so the snowflakes show up. I layered my inked panel on Shimmery White cardstock and then Highland Heather. Finally, I added some opal rounds amongst the snowflakes.

Okay, Last Christmas Card

I don’t intend to post any more Christmas cards this year, in fact I likely won’t post anything more this year. I’m going to take a few weeks off to get ready for Christmas and to prepare some projects for the upcoming Demos Galore in January.

The background on this card is sprayed with Frost White Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol but it’s really hard to get a photo of that sparkle.

I’m playing along with the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Supplies:
Bundles – Snowflake Wishes
Stamp Sets – Snowflake Wishes
Die Cutting & Embossing – So Many Snowflakes dies, Stitched Shapes dies, Winter Snow embossing folder
Punches – Triple Banner punch
Ink – Coastal Cabana stamp pad, Frost White Shimmer Paint
Paper – Coastal Cabana cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Snowflake Splendor designer series paper
Accents & Embellishments – Blue adhesive-backed gems

Split Circle Card

I’ve seen this split circle technique for a while now and I wanted to give it a try. I really wanted my swooshes to match up so I needed the biggest and the smallest circles for each of the patterned papers. The background is embossed using the Winter Snow embossing folder and then I colored it using the Blending Brushes and Coastal Cabana ink. Each of the circles is cut in half and then layered as shown below. I used a 1/4″ strip of Coastal Cabana cardstock and the Snowflake Splendor ribbon to cover up the seam.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Snowflake Wishes
Die Cutting & Embossing – Layering Circles dies, Winter Snow embossing folder
Ink – Coastal Cabana stamp pad
Paper – Coastal Cabana cardstock, Whisper White Thick cardstock, Snowflake Splendor designer series paper
Accents & Embellishments – Snowflake Splendor ribbon, Snowflake Sequins
Coloring Tools – Blending Brushes
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Tear & Tape

Faux Shaker Card

In early November I attended Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage Online convention and one of the cards shown used this technique to create a faux shaker card. I’d never heard of this before and it’s a much easier way to make a shaker card. I may not include layered paper on the inside of the clear envelope next time but I was following a sketch.

To make the shaker: you place a piece of paper inside a clear envelope, add your sequins, fold over edges and seal the envelope. So easy!

I’m playing along with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Snowflake Wishes
Die Cutting & Embossing – Stitched Nested Labels dies, Stitched Rectangles dies
Ink – Coastal Cabana stamp pad, Pacific Point stamp pad
Paper – Snowflake Splendor designer series paper, Pacific Point cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, clear envelopes
Accents & Embellishments – Snowflake Sequins
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick

Sending Warm Christmas Wishes

Ink – Seaside Spray stamp pad, Night of Navy stamp pad

Back in September the group of demonstrators I belong to held an event called Demos Galore. The event was entirely online with a gallery and videos for inspiration. The make & take card from the event was a cube card and the extra gift was supplies for another cube card. I finally got a chance to make them. I’ve made this card once before, check it out for instructions.
