I may have over blinged this card. I started with one gem on the daisy and then added the rest and some clear Wink of Stella (that you probably can’t see). The Daffodil Afternoon patterned paper was laying next to me, so I decided to use it. I’m playing along with the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Challenge 544.

New Horizons

When I first saw this paper pack, I knew I had to get it. Each piece is a work of art. I’m playing along with the Paper Players sketch challenge (PP575) and I wanted the focus of this card to be on the beautiful paper.

The background is stamped with the Gentle Waves stamp, I felt it needed some texture and the waves went with the patterned paper. I didn’t perfectly stamp the background, so I used a sponge dauber to ink the edges. The sentiment is from the Daisy Lane stamp set and cut out with hexagons from the Beautiful Shapes dies. Behind the sentiment, I used the Frayed ribbon. To get this look with the ribbon, you just pull on the thread holding it together.

Textured Smile

I’m playing along with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge again today. (I really love their sketches.) I felt like playing with the In Good Taste patterned paper because I wanted a texture behind the flower. My daisy was built with 5 punched daisies to give it loads of volume and I used liquid glue to stick it all together.

Mystery Card

Well, it won’t be a mystery for you. During a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator gathering last week we created a mystery card. We were given measurements and then someone read the instructions while we created. I’m not a very good listener. 🙂

Patterned Paper – 5 1/4″ x 12″, scored at 2″, 4″, 8″, 10″
Color Cardstock – 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
White or light color cardstock for inside – 3 3/4″ x 5″
White or color cardstock for stamping on – 2″ x 3 1/8″
White cardstock to stamp on and punch or die cut, no bigger than 2 1/4″ x 3 1/4″

The directions were to mark 2 1/2″ down each short side of the patterned paper and cut from there up to the CLOSEST score line. (Well, I cut to the second score line so I have two versions.) Then you take that cut piece, flip it, and attach it to the bottom to create a diamond shape. This is how mine turned out (after I started over). 🙂

Daisy Lane Friend

I’m playing along with challenge 511 from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Challenges.

I pulled out the Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper to include on the card and added it to the gray cardstock before embossing with the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder. The embossing folder reminded me of the gold veins in the paper. Then I pulled out a stamp set I haven’t used in quite some time. Friend is embossed in black embossing powder and the daisies with gold embossing powder.

Daisy Lane, Card #3

This card uses the Daisy punch because my Medium Daisy punch hadn’t arrived yet.  The card base is stamped with the leaf image from the Daisy Lane stamp set and the paper is from the Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper.
