Elegant Anniversary

I needed an anniversary card and I chose to use the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #428 as an inspiration. I cut each of the strips to 1 1/4″ x 5 3/8″ but I think they should have been 5 1/4″ tall, I still like it. Behind the sentiment, I used a 1/2″ strip of black cardstock that I embossed to give it texture.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Elegantly Said
Die Cutting & Embossing – Hippo & Friends dies, Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder
Ink – Versamark stamp pad
Paper – Basic Black cardstock, Gold Foil sheets, Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper
Accents & Embellishments – Matte Black Dots
Coloring Tools – Gold embossing powder
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick, Heat tool
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Stampin’ Dimensionals, liquid glue

Elegantly Said Thinking of You

I found a sketch on the TGIF Challenges but I decided to use circles instead of the squares shown in the sketch. I really love the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper, especially this particular sheet of it.

I stamped the flower from the Elegantly Said stamp set with Versamark and embossed it with copper embossing powder. I used my scored board to add lines to the piece of basic black cardstock and die cut a circle out of the copper foil sheet before putting my card together. The copper circle was used to emphasize the stamped and embossed flower.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Art Gallery, Elegantly Said
Die Cutting & Embossing – Layering Circles dies
Punches – Banners Pick-a-Punch
Ink – Versamark
Paper – Basic Black cardstock, Basic Gray cardstock, Basic White cardstock (for the inside), Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper, Copper Foil sheets
Coloring Tools – copper embossing powder
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Heat tool
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Black Stampin’ Dimensionals

Elegant Birthday

I’m still playing with the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper. This time I pulled out a piece that is white/gold and added color to it. I’m playing with Mojo Monday sketch #558.

For my first card, I added Cherry Cobbler ink to the patterned paper with a blending brush. I accidentally cut the wrong side so it is 3 1/2″ wide instead of 4″ wide so I added a piece of gold foil as a layer.

For my second card. I inked it with Basic Gray and I remembered which side to cut the diagonal from. 🙂

Which do you prefer?

This is what the patterned paper looks like without the added ink.

Here’s the sketch I was following.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Elegantly Said
Die Cutting & Embossing – Layering Circles dies, Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder
Ink – Basic Gray stamp pad, Cherry Cobbler stamp pad, Versamark stamp pad
Paper – Basic Black cardstock, Basic Gray cardstock, Cherry Cobbler cardstock, Gold Foil Sheets, Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper
Coloring Tools – Blending Brushes, Gold embossing powder
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Heat tool

Simply Elegant Anniversary

This card features another spectacular pack of paper from Stampin’ Up! I’m featuring the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper on this card.

I cut the piece of patterned paper to 4″ x 5 1/2″ and used one of the Basic Border Dies to create the edge. The sentiment is stamped in versamark and embossed using copper embossing powder before die cutting from my favorite labels. Check out all that beautiful shine! I even used the extra piece from my border on the inside of the card.

I’m following this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Elegantly Said
Die Cutting & Embossing – Basic Borders dies, Hippo & Friends dies
Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black stamp pad, Versamark stamp pad
Paper – Basic Black cardstock, Basic White cardstock, Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper, Copper Foil Sheets
Coloring Tools – Copper embossing powder
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Heat Tool
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Stampin’ Dimensionals, liquid glue

Expressions in Ink

I absolutely adore this new patterned paper! I had to have it! I love that it’s perfectly beautiful on the front of a card without adding much to it.

There is a coordinating stamp set that goes with this paper that I wasn’t thinking of getting until I saw someone stamp with it. You know how it goes. The gray images in the catalog just don’t do it justice.

I started by cutting the top and bottom parts of the paper to 4″ x 5 1/4″. I wanted to keep as much of the color in middle section to use later.

I layered the patterned paper on a piece of gold foil sheet but before that, I die cut my extra pieces.

Just look at how the gold foil in the patterned paper shines!
