Enjoy the Journey

I pulled out a sheet of my new Enjoy the Journey paper pack and made these various cards from it.

I started by cutting my paper into six different card fronts. The rectangles are 4″ x 5 1/4″.

My first card is just stamps, ink, and paper. I let the pretty paper do all the work for me.

For the second set of cards, I added clouds, trees, and what is supposed to be stars but they are looking more like snow. 🙂 I also added heat embossing for the sentiments and stars.

For my final cards, I die cut the sentiment label, punch a hole in each side, and threaded some linen thread through. To add support for the linen thread, I glued the patterned paper to a piece of thick white cardstock.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Art Gallery, Beauty of Friendship, Friends are like Seashells, Mountain Air, Shaded Summer
Die Cutting & Embossing – Majestic Mountain, & Something Fancy dies
Ink – Coastal Cabana, Garden Green, Smoky Slate, Starry Sky, & Versamark stamp pads
Paper –Basic White, Basic White Thick, Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather, & Starry Sky cardstock; Enjoy the Journey 12″x12″ Designer Series Paper

Coloring Tools – White embossing powder

Today I’m playing along with Try Stampin’ On Tuesday and making some thank you cards. The Fancy Flora patterned paper just arrived and I decided to play with it. The paper is cut to 3″ x 4 1/4″ so I can get two cards out of one piece. Also, the biggest circle die I have is 3″.

Ink – Night of Navy stamp pad
Paper – Fancy Flora 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper; Basic White Thick, Night of Navy, & Pool Party cardstock

Faux Rust?

I was trying to figure out what I wanted to make for today and my husband suggested something fallish since that’s supposed to hit us on Wednesday. Pulling out my Beauty of Friendship stamp set along with Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze stamp pads, I got to work. The tree is a two step stamp, the background one is Pumpkin Pie and the more detailed one is in Cajun Craze.

For the background, I used the leftover embossed paper from my last post. Then taking my blending brushes with Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze ink, I covered the paper. I again tapped the Versamark ink pad over it and added copper embossing powder. It’s really pretty in person.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Beauty of Friendship
Die Cutting & Embossing – Stitched Rectangle dies, Potted Succulents dies, Quatrefoil Tile embossing folder
Ink – Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, & Pumpkin Pie stamp pads
Paper – Early Espresso, Very Vanilla Thick, & Very Vanilla cardstock
Accents & Embellishments – Linen Thread
Coloring Tools – Blending Brushes, Sponge Daubers
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Bone Folder, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Heat tool
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Stampin’ Dimensionals, liquid glue

Wild & Sweet Swap Card

Here is the second swap card I refered to in Tuesday’s post. I really wanted to use the Wild & Sweet stamps but I didn’t want to color it for every swap card, so I did the spotlight technique where you only color in a portion of the image.

Die Cutting & Embossing –Scalloped Contours dies, Stylish Shapes dies, Timber 3D embossing folder
Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black stamp pad

Beauty of the Earth

I get creative block often (as I’ve commented here) and besides sketches, limited supplies helps. The background on this card is patterned paper from the Stampin’ Up! Beauty of the Earth paper pack. I wish I could create watercolor backgrounds that look this good, of course that would mean I’d need to practice. 🙂

This card was inspired by OWH Sketch #23.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Beauty of Friendship
Die Cutting & Embossing – Beautiful Trees dies
Ink – Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive
Paper – Basic White cardstock, Basic White Thick cardstock, Cherry Cobbler cardstock, Early Espresso cardstock, Misty Moonlight cardstock, Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, liquid glue

Friendships Refresh the Soul

I’m playing along with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge today. This may look like a simple card, but my craft area is a mess with everything I pulled out to make it. The sentiment is from Beauty of Friendship, the flowers are from Color & Contour, and then three die sets to finish it off. The label edges are inked with Highland Heather and I even stamped on the inside.

I wanted to use my new Prismacolors that husband got me for our anniversary so I tried to find the closest matches I could to the paper.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Beauty of Friendship, Color & Contour
Die Cutting & Embossing – Brilliant Winds dies, Hippo & Friends dies, Scalloped Contours dies
Ink – Basic Gray stamp pad, Highland Heather stamp pad
Paper – Basic White cardstock, Basic White Thick cardstock, Highland Heather cardstock, Mint Macaron cardstock, Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper
Accents & Embellishments – Pastel Pearls
Coloring Tools – Prismacolors colored pencils Canary Yellow (PC916), Jade Green (PC1021), & Lilac (PC956); sponge daubers
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals , liquid glue
