Love is in the Air is this month’s theme for the Stamping Inkspiration Blog Hop. I decided to create my St. Valentine’s Day cards for my family. I apologize now because this is a very photo heavy post, I couldn’t stop making this card layout because I have soooo much patterned paper to use up. I was inspired by a card I saw created by Alisa Tilsner but I changed the dimensions slightly from what she used.
First I will start with the card I created for my husband.
Then I created one for my son.
Then I used some retired Stampin’ Up! paper to create my daughter’s card.
This is when I just kept going because I also needed some birthday cards. Now, I know these aren’t love cards but you just need to change the “Happy Birthday” and they could be. I also used the Stitched Rectangle dies for the white insert to add a little something extra.
And for those who want to recreate these, I have a template.

This card was inspired by a Jennifer McGuire video where she was stenciling and masking. I die cut a heart out of Very Vanilla cardstock, masked off the all but the heart on the front of my card, then stamped. I’d recommend using the largest heart die from the Stitched Be Mine dies and not the one that just does stitches like I did. 🙂 I used a craft knife to finish cutting out the heart. I stamped the words, frame, leaves, and a heart inside the heart before inking with Crumb Cake. Then I put the heart in place, removed the outside, and inked around with Soft Sea Foam. That didn’t set off the heart well enough so I stamped the leaves and added the heart frame. I finished it off with the sentiment on dimensionals. I was trying to make a one layer card, maybe next time. 🙂
I was inspired by a card I saw on ebay. You may recognize the border from my day 3 card, don’t throw out those extra pieces. The basic black cardstock has a 1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock added to it before punching out out the heart and the pearls were colored with a sharpie. The white heart was embossed with the Lace 3D embossing folder. The smaller rectangle is embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder and set inside the inked frame.

When I was testing out the blending brush from Tuesday’s post, I used it on a piece of embossed cardstock I had sitting out. I really love the ombre look you can get with the brush.
