Say Goodbye to Jar of Love and Hardwood

Jar of Love is another stamp set that has not gotten enough love from me.  For this card, I stamped the jar on vellum using Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I put it on some Wood Textures paper and Buffalo Check stamped paper that I had laying on my work table.  The background is Hardwood stamped using Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake.

The Wilderness Awaits Class Card

This is the first card we made in my last Cookies & Cards class.  I gave people the option of using “Happy Father’s Day” instead.

Measurements:

Early Espresso	5 ½” x 8 ½”, 3 ¼” x 4 ½”
Very Vanilla	(2) 4” x 5 ¼”
Watercolor Paper	3” x 4 ¼”

Instructions:

1. Using Basic Black, stamp the duck toward the top of the watercolor paper.
2. Using Early Espresso, stamp the “Happy Birthday” toward the bottom of the watercolor paper.
3. Color the image using the watercolor pencils. Use the Blender pens to soften and blend the colors.
4. Using Early Espresso, ink the Hardwood stamp and then press the Very Vanilla onto it. Place a scratch piece of paper over it and rub to help the transfer.
5. Tie a piece of Whisper White Thick Baker’s Twine around the watercolor panel before adhering to the Early Espresso 3 ¼” x 4 ½” piece.
6. Adhere as shown. Add the second piece of Very Vanilla to the inside of the card.

Flurry of Wishes

This is the card I made for swaps at Onstage in Madison the beginning of November.  OnStage is a gathering of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators where we celebrate our accomplishments and learn about upcoming products.  I also made this card in my last Cookies & Cards class over the weekend.

Measurements:

Crumb Cake	5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Real Read	¾” x 3 ¼”
Whisper White	4” x 5 ¼”

Instructions:

1. Ink Hardwood Stamp with Tip Top Taupe. Lay card base on stamp and rub back to transfer ink.
2. Rub card base with embossing buddy. Using Whisper White, stamp middle sized snowflake in lower right corner.  Then stamp the duo of snowflakes around in the lower right and upper left corners.  Cover with white embossing powder and use the heat tool to set.
3. Rub the piece of Real Read with the embossing buddy then stamp Merry Christmas on it using Whisper White ink on the right side. Cover with white embossing powder and use the heat tool to set.  Punch banner on the left side.
4. Using a sponge dauber, sponge Whisper White ink on the lower right corner of the card base. Cover with white embossing powder and use heat tool to set.
5. On the piece of Whisper White, stamp inside sentiment in Real Red ink. Add to the inside of the card.
6. Add the piece of Real Red to the front of the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional on the left side and SNAIL on the right.

Hardwood Father’s Day

On Saturday I held my new catalog celebration.  Not only did the attendees receive wonderful prizes, yummy cookies, the new catalog and free shipping but they also got to make this card.

This card was inspired by a Connie Collins post.

I cut a piece of Crumb Cake to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″, and folded it in half.  Next I inked up the Hardwood stamp with Chocolate Chip and put the folded Crumb Cake card CAREFULLY onto the stamp so the entire front panel would be covered.  On a separate piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Crumb Cake, I stamped the Hardwood with Chocolate Chip again.  With this piece, I cut along the “planks” to create my cross supports.  The edges of the card and the cross supports were inked with Chocolate Chip on the edges using a sponge.  For the sentiment, I stamped Father’s day in Dapper Denim and Happy in Crumb Cake onto Very Vanilla, then I punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch and inked the edges with Chocolate Chip.  The star was die cut out of Dapper Denim.

Playing with the new In Colors

I’m so sorry I haven’t been posting lately.  I’ve been creating just not taking pictures and actually blogging them.  🙂  I hope this is worth the wait.

I’ve been playing with the new 2016-2018 Stampin’ Up! In Colors creating some cards to showcase them and here is what I’ve come up with.  I got the initial idea from a photo Cecelia Nardus Erasmus‎ posted in a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator group.

I started by putting a piece of painters tape across the Hardwood stamp.  Then I inked the stamp, removed the tape (I almost forgot this a couple of times), put the paper on the stamp and rub the back of it with your hand.   My first attempt I used some older washi tape that I have laying around to mask off the white strip but the ink went through it.
