… The Healing Hugs stamp set. This was the first Distinktive stamp set Stampin’ Up! released. I absolutely loved the rose and had to have this set immediately. It look practice and the right level of ink to get the flower to stamp perfectly.
This month’s technique is thumping. I’m not going to lie to you, I hate thumping. I never get it right. I tend to do more of a strategic coloring instead like in September but I gave it a try. I did my thumping on the Stacked Stones background stamp hoping it would be seen as texture.
I watched a video by Jessica Taylor to refresh my memory on thumping but essentially it’s tapping your marker around on your stamp before stamping. I did mine on the Stamparatus so I could stamp multiple times. I first stamped the background in Smoky Slate before using my Basic Black, Basic Gray, and Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Markers for the thumping.
It’s a post without a butterfly!!! I’m done with butterflies for now and I’m showing off the second card we made at my last Cookies & Cards class using the Healling Hugs stamp set and the Well Said bundle. Healing Hugs is a Distinktive stamp set, so all that dimension is from ONE stamp.
Over the weekend we celebrated Rachel Tessman’s 50th birthday and I made this card for her. I have a woefully small selection of current “Happy Birthday” sentiments that fit in this banner. For the flower, I used a sponge dauber to apply the ink and my Stamparatus to stamp it twice.
You may have noticed from my recent posts but my favorite colors from the color revamp are Mint Macaron and Blackberry Bliss. I think I’m using them on every card, I almost need to buy more cardstock. 🙂 Here is my latest card using that color combo and it’s a swap card. I’ll show you the cards I got in return on Thursday. The rose is one of Stampin’ Up!’s new dist-INK-tive stamps.
