WV Fun Fold

I was watching Susan Campfield make a WV fold and I thought it would be a perfect fold to show off the main image stamp from Reflected in Nature. I’ve been wanting to use this stamp set for a while but just didn’t have an idea to use it with. So, today is the day. This is a really thick card, it might be a deliver-in-person kind of card.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Peaceful Cabin, Reflected in Nature
Die Cutting & Embossing – Layering Circles dies
Ink – Basic Gray stamp pad
Paper – Peaceful Place 12×12 Specialty Designer Series Paper, Basic Gray cardstock, Basic White Thick cardstock, Smoky Slate cardstock
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL

Peaceful Place Suite, Day 12

Today is the last day of showing my projects from Demos Galore and this one comes with a video. The video shows all of the cards I made and includes directions on how to make this card. It’s called a Multi-tiered pop up card and I modified one I saw on Mixed Up Craft.

If you want the shorter edited version, click here.

This is also the second card from my August in person class so I have some written directions too.

Measurements:

Basic White Thick cardstock4 ¼” x 7”, scored at 1 ½” from each side 4 ¼” x 5”, scored at ½” from each side 2 ¼” x 5”, scored at ½” from each side 1 ½” x 5”, scored at ½” from each side
Peaceful Place Specialty DSP3 ¾” x 4”

Instructions:

  1. Using Basic Gray ink:
    • Stamp trees on the 4 ¼” x 5” piece of Basic White Thick cardstock then die cut.
    • Stamp fox on the 2 ¼” x 5” piece of Basic White Thick cardstock then die cut
    • Stamp sentiment on the 1 ½” x 5” piece of piece of Basic White Thick cardstock
  2. Using the sentiment piece, mark the side panels of the card measuring from the bottom.  Cut diagonally from the inside score line at the top to the mark.
  3. Add patterned paper to inside back of card.
  4. Using a little liquid glue on the scored edges of the trees, fit into place inside the card lining up with the bottom and fold left and right.  Repeat for fox.
  5. For the sentiment layer, before adding glue fit the layer in the card and check if any extra cardstock needs to be cut away.  If so, trim some of the scored tab before adding the liquid glue and putting into place like the previous two layers.
  6. Add Clear Wink of Stella to the edges of the layers.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Peaceful Cabin
Die Cutting & Embossing – Peaceful Cabin dies
Ink – Basic Gray stamp pad

Peaceful Place Suite, Day 10

Right before I made this card, I watched a Jennifer McGuire video where she was making these shadow box cards. I hadn’t made one in a while so I thought I would do it again.

This is slightly larger than one of my normal cards, it’s 6″ tall by 7″ wide (when you fold in the sides it’s 5″ wide). I scored along the long side at 1/2″ and 1″ from each side. You do this to two pieces, one of which you die cut a window in using the Stitched Rectangle dies. I stamped the cabin and trees using Versamark ink, embossed with silver embossing powder, and die cut them before adding them behind the window. (I put dimensionals between the cabin and the trees but it’s hard to see.)

In the center section of the back cardstock, I added a piece of patterned paper for the scene. Fold on the score lines and glue the 1/2″ outside section on the front and back pieces together and you fold it to have a shadow box. (I used liquid glue so I had some wiggle room.)

The snowflake around the window are because I didn’t think of stamping and embossing them until I put the card together and I had issues, so I just stamped lots of little snowflakes.

Stamp Sets – Peaceful Cabin
Die Cutting & Embossing – Cabin dies, Layering Circle dies, Stitched Rectangle dies
Ink – Versamark stamp pad, Smoky Slate stamp pad
Paper – Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper, Basic White Thick cardstock

Peaceful Place Suite, Day 9

The beautiful sequins in the Peaceful Place Suite called out for a shaker card. I used two of the Stitched Rectangle dies to create the frame and the outside one to die cut the patterned paper for the back. I stamped the cabin on white cardstock using Smoky Slate ink then die cut it using the extra insert die. Behind the cabin I die cut silver foil using the cabin die without the extra insert so it would shine through the cut outs.

I attached the cabin behind the frame and then put that on a window sheet before adding foam strips, sequins and attaching to the patterned paper. Then that whole piece was added to the cardbase. I also glued some sequins to the patterned paper so they would always be floating.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Peaceful Cabin
Die Cutting & Embossing – Cabin dies, Stitched Rectangle dies
Ink – Smoky Slate stamp pad
Paper – Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper, Silver Foil pack, Basic White Thick cardstock, Smoky Slate cardstock, Window Sheets
Accents & Embellishments – Subtle Shimmer sequins
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, liquid glue, foam adhesive strips

Peaceful Place Suite, Day 8

I’m fond of fun folds and I thought this stamp set would work well with a center step card. I pulled in my Mountain Air stamp set to help set the scene with the evergreen trees. For the evergreens, I stamped them using Garden Green ink. Then I took a sponge dauber, tapped it on my Whisper White stamp pad and dabbed at the trees, over that I added white embossing powder. I was going for a dusting of snow on them. For the patterned paper on the sides, I used a black and white buffalo plaid piece of patterned paper then colored it with Garden Green using my blending brush. I think it works well as a masculine birthday card.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Peaceful Cabin, Mountain Air, Art Gallery
Die Cutting & Embossing – Cabin dies, Stitched Rectangle dies
Ink – Basic Gray stamp pad, Garden Green stamp pad, Whisper White stamp pad,
Paper – Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper, Smoky Slate cardstock, Basic Gray cardstock, Basic White Thick Cardstock

Peaceful Place Suite, Day 7

This paper is just so gorgeous, I didn’t want to add much to distract from it. All I did was cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece from the patterned paper , add a ribbon, and attach it to a gray cardbase. It’s simply lovely. You can easily get six cards out of one sheet of patterned paper.

This is the patterned paper I used.

Supplies:
Paper – Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper, Smoky Slate cardstock
Accents & Embellishments – White Glittered Organdy ribbon
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Mini glue dots, Tear & Tape

Peaceful Place Suite, Day 5

For this card, I wanted to create a simple masculine card with no coloring. The background is the Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder, I inked it using a blending brush and Old Olive ink. The Early Espresso strip is embossed using the new Timber 3D embossing folder.

Peaceful Place Suite, Day 4

I wanted to make a non-winter card with the Peaceful Cabin stamp set and this is what I came up with.

I stamped the cabin in Early Espresso and colored in the roof with the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend marker. I also stamped the cabin on a post-it note and cut it out to use as a mask so I could stamp the trees behind the cabin. For any part of the trees that didn’t stamp close to the cabin, I filled in by dotting with my Garden Green Stampin’ Write marker. The sky and grass were created with ink and my blending brushes. The eagle comes from the Reflected in Nature stamp set and I used the chalk marker to whiten the head since I stamped over my inked background. I glued the panel to a white cardbase when I was done.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Peaceful Cabin, Reflected in Nature
Die Cutting & Embossing – Cabin dies
Ink – Balmy Blue stamp pad, Pear Pizzazz stamp pad, Garden Green stamp pad, Early Espresso stamp pad, Tuxedo Black Memento stamp pad
Paper – Basic White Thick cardstock
Coloring Tools – Chalk marker, Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends, Garden Green marker, Blending Brushes
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

Peaceful Place Suite, Day 3

I made an attempt at the Northern Lights technique using my blending brushes, I think I prefer using sponges because I have a little more control and more color. I’m getting a nice glow but it’s not exactly what I wanted. I’ll have to pull out my sponges and give it another try.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Peaceful Cabin
Die Cutting & Embossing – Cabin dies
Ink – Tuxedo Black Memento, Night of Navy stamp pad, Daffodil Delight stamp pad, Bermuda Bay stamp pad, Rich Razzleberry stamp pad
Paper – Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper, Basic Gray cardstock, Shimmery White cardstock, Basic White Thick cardstock
Accents & Embellishments – Subtle Shimmer Sequins
Coloring Tools – Blending Brushes, Wink of Stella
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
