December 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternates

I don’t normally do alternates for Paper Pumpkin kits. First, because I’m usually months behind. Second, because I like to create them as designed because it’s relaxing. The December kit had loads of pieces and a coordinating pack of cards that I bought so I thought I would create some alternatives. Of course, I had to use some of the Fitting Florets patterned paper because I love it so much. The first two are using the June 2021 Sheetload of Sketches design.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – December 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit, Framed Florets, Graceful Tiles
Die Cutting & Embossing – Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder
Ink – Garden Green stamp pad
Paper – Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper; Balmy Blue, Basic Gray, Basic White Thick, & Blushing Bride cardstock; Good Things Cards and Envelopes
Accents & Embellishments – Brushed Brass Butterflies, Classic Matte dots, Elegant Faceted gems
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Bone Folder, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Stampin’ Dimensionals, liquid glue

From the North Pole Tags to Easy Cards

For Christmas present tags, I tend to reuse the tags I have. Also, I feel lots of layers will get damaged. So, I created the tags as directed and then turned them into easy cards

For the first card, all I did was emboss the background using the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder and before adding the tag on top.

For the second card, the background was embossed with the Twigs & Sprigs embossing folder then I attached a piece from the Fitting Florets patterned paper before adding the tag on top.

For the third card, the background was created using the Stitched Greenery die then I added a piece of red glimmer paper and a Wonderful Snowflake.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – November 2020 Paper Pumpkin (From the North Pole), Kindest Gnomes
Die Cutting & Embossing – Stitched Greenery die, Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder, Twigs & Sprigs Hybrid embossing folder
Ink – Cherry Cobbler stamp pad
Paper – Real Red & White 6″x6″ Glimmer Paper; Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper; Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, & Mint Macaron cardstock
Accents & Embellishments – Wonderful Snowflakes
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Bone Folder, Stamparatus, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Paper Snips
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Stampin’ Dimensionals, liquid glue

November Paper Pumpkin

Happy Thanksgiving!

I love Paper Pumpkin but I don’t always have a use for treat containers like this month’s kit. So instead of creating the treat boxes, I made some simple cards. These cards are bigger than my normal cards, they are 5″ x 7″ and 4″ x 8″.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – November 2021 Paper Pumpkin
Die Cutting & Embossing – Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder, Inspiring Canopy dies
Ink – Evening Evergreen stamp pad, Old Olive stamp pad, Pool Party stamp pad, Poppy Parade stamp pad
Paper – Basic White Thick cardstock, Evening Evergreen cardstock, Pool Party cardstock, Poppy Parade cardstock, Peaceful Place 12″x12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper
Accents & Embellishments – Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials, Wonderful Gems
Coloring Tools – Blending Brushes, Sponge Daubers
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Stampin’ Dimensionals, liquid glue

Paper Pumpkin November 2020 Alternative

I loved this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit with the gingerbread house gift card holders but I didn’t need 15 of those so I made a card out of some of the remaining pieces. I also created a card using current Stampin’ Up! products in case you missed out on the Paper Pumpkin kit.

This is what the kit was designed for.

For the gingerbread house I created, I cut both the Cinnamon Cider and Whisper White pieces of cardstock to 2 1/4″ x 4″. I marked 3/4″ down each side of the Cinnamon Cider cardstock, drew a line up to the middle, and cut off the corners. I repeated with the Whisper White cardstock before cutting 1/8″ off each side and 1/4″ off the bottom. (It really bugs me if angles aren’t the same.) I then used the stitched scallop border to edge the Whisper White cardstock.

I used the white chalk pen to add dots around the Cinnamon Cider piece and used dimensionals to attach the embossed Whisper White piece. The pearls were colored with dark Stampin’ Blends markers in Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, and Shaded Spruce.

To create the door hole, I used a 3/4″ circle punch and cut straight down. (We no longer sell a 3/4″ circle punch but you should be able to find one.) The snowbank is hand but because I don’t have the Curvy dies.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Poinsettia Petals
Die Cutting & Embossing – Majestic Mountains dies, Tin Tile 3D embossing folder
Ink – Blushing Bride
Paper – Cinnamon Cider cardstock, Mint Macaron cardstock, Shaded Spruce cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Snowflake Splendor designer series paper
Accents & Embellishments – basic pearls, Wonderful Gems
Coloring Tools – dark Stampin’ Blends in Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, and Shaded Spruce. White Stampin’ Chalk Marker
Tools – Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Summer Nights by Paper Pumpkin

I got my July 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit and immediately started to play with it. The first three cards are made according to the kit directions and put on Night of Navy cardbases. The next two I used items from the kit along with some ink and cardstock to create something new.

I stamped the fireworks in Versamark on the postcard with lots of Coastal Cabana and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I dragged the Night of Navy ink pad over it so the fireworks stand out.

For this card I used the stem so the fireworks could be dandelions.

Supplies:

Ink – Blackberry Bliss, Night of Navy, Versamark
Paper – Blackberry Bliss, Night of Navy
Coloring Tools – White Stampin’ Emboss Powder
Tools – Heat Tool
Adhesive – Stampin’ SEAL

Sending Sunshine

I was playing with the June 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit called Sending Sunshine. It had so many leftover pieces I needed to make a few extra cards.

The first card is my least favorite recreation. Apparently my Crushed Curry marker is dry so my lines didn’t come out well in the first card so I went over them with the Mango Melody dark Stampin’ Blend. I think that would have worked better if I’d done it before putting the sun on. The second card is also using Mango Melody but this time I did it before the sun. The last card is using the lines stamp from the kit along with gold embossing powder and that one turned out much better.

This next card turned out a little better. I used one of the basic stencils, versamark, and gold embossing powder to create a polka dot pattern for the background. For the second card, I used a line stamp from Swirly Frames to create a line pattern. For the last card, I cut 1/4″ strips of gold foil and attached them to the card front.

The third card was a lot of trial and error. I put drops of Crushed Curry and Poppy Parade and rubbing alcohol into Stampin’ Spritzers. It was a lot of spraying, pouring, spraying, pouring. Since the ink is dye ink, it tends to stay put and doesn’t more as well as alcohol ink but I think these turned out pretty well. The third card in my recreations is on watercolor paper with watered down ink.

I did learn from this not to drop the reinkers directly onto the paper no matter how wet it was because the ink would stay there. Not exactly what I was going for.

This last card is my favorite, I went to inking with makeup brushes and I’m much better at that. I covered the paper with Crushed Curry and then added some Poppy Parade to it. It’s too bad I don’t have the Tailored Tag punch because I think it would match this label perfectly.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets – Swirly Frames
Die Cutting & Embossing – Stitched Rectangles dies, Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder
Punches – Banner Triple Punch, Timeless Label Punch
Ink – Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade, Tuxedo Black Memento, Versamark, Crushed Curry refill, Poppy Parade refill, Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends, Regals Stampin’ Write Markers
Paper – Basic Black, Shimmery White, Whisper White Thick, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Gold Foil Sheets
Coloring Tools – Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Stampin’ Spritzer
Tools – Heat Tool, Paper Trimmer
Adhesive – Stampin’ Dimensionals, Stampin’ SEAL

Fun with the August 2019 Paper Pumpkin

Okay, I admit, I get behind on my monthly Paper Pumpkin kits. *gasp* I especially get behind when the kit is a treat kit and not a standard card kit. My fun with Paper Pumpkin is creating them exactly as directed because it’s relaxing but the treat kits require more thought. I took the August 2019 kit and made cards from it trying to use every single piece. I also made a version of the last card using current Stampin’ Up! products so you can recreate it.

For the first two cards, I made the tags as directed then added them to a piece of embossed cardstock and a cardbase. (The sentiment is from the retired Butterfly Basics stamp set.)

These next two cards are basically the same except I ran out of the Crumb Cake leaves and had to use the die cut from the Animal Friends dies. I die cut the Whisper White cardstock using the biggest Stitched Shapes circle die and stamped it with a stamp from the kit. My banner is a 2″ piece of Pretty Peacock that I punched with the Banner Triple punch.

Here’s where I took a turn. The kit came with these small labels that didn’t have a purpose so I used them with some of the other leftover pieces to create this card. I did have to pull out the leaf punch to fill in for the die cut in the kit.

And if you didn’t have the kit, you can make this card with current Stampin’ Up! products. I die cut the leaf and inked it with Crushed Curry and Merry Merlot.

J. Pollock Designs - Stampin' Up! - Paper Pumpkin January 2020 I'll Bee Yours

Paper Pumpkin I’ll Bee Yours

I love getting my Paper Pumpkin box in the mail every month.  Sometimes it may take a while before I have a chance to play with it but this month I opened it right away.  I personally don’t use 3″ x 3″ cards often so I like to change them into my regular size of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.  This kit also coordinates with the new heart punch pack in the mini catalog that I’ve been busy making cards with for Demos Galore.  The ink and stamps came with the full kit which is no longer available but the twine and dimensionals are part of the refill.

Here are my alternates:

Winter Gifts Paper Pumpkin

I love getting my Paper Pumpkin box every month, the latest was for tags.  I save most of my Christmas tags and reuse them each year so I don’t always have a use for them.  I decided to take these gorgeous tags and make some cards out of them.

To see the Paper Pumpkin kit, check out this YouTube video:

Here are the tags I made according to the directions:

Another Paper Pumpkin Card

Happy Independence Day to everyone in the USA!

Yesterday was my son’s birthday and I used some of the leftovers from my June 2019 Paper Pumpkin to create a card for him.

The Crumb Cake base is 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″ and cut off 2 3/4″ from one end because that’s what you use for the focal point image.

It’s hard not to make extra cards from Paper Pumpkin kits, I mean look at everything I had left over after making the cards.
