I don’t intend to post any more Christmas cards this year, in fact I likely won’t post anything more this year. I’m going to take a few weeks off to get ready for Christmas and to prepare some projects for the upcoming Demos Galore in January.
The background on this card is sprayed with Frost White Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol but it’s really hard to get a photo of that sparkle.
I’m playing along with the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

In early November I attended Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage Online convention and one of the cards shown used this technique to create a faux shaker card. I’d never heard of this before and it’s a much easier way to make a shaker card. I may not include layered paper on the inside of the clear envelope next time but I was following a sketch.
To make the shaker: you place a piece of paper inside a clear envelope, add your sequins, fold over edges and seal the envelope. So easy!

I embossed the red velvet paper for this background. It’s pretty but not as pretty as the poinsettias are when I use them to emboss the red velvet paper. I think I will save it for poinsettias. I still have some white flocked paper from last year that I should pull out and use for poinsettias, I bet that would be pretty too.

I’m making a card and I’m not using the Snowflake Splendor Suite! Can you believe it? 🙂
I recently purchased the Poinsettia Petals bundle and I wanted to play with it and the Red Velvet Paper because the embossing on the Red Velvet Paper is gorgeous. I didn’t get a great photo with the little die but I plan to use it with the large poinsettia dies for my card class to go next month.
To get the little poinsettia’s to curl up, I gently used my finger nail.

Have you ever had an idea for a card but not like how it ends up. I kept going with this card but I’m still not sure I like it. I started with a sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and I wanted to make it landscape and a Spanner Panel Three Layer Card because I thought it would work with the sketch… The die cut I used for the opening was a little wider than I was thinking so I had to back it with a window sheet to give it some stability. I’d also discovered that the Stitched Nested Label dies went with the label from the So Many Snowflakes dies that I wanted to use it too. *sigh* My front panel was die cut slightly crooked. Well, tell me what you think.
The snowflake label looks so cute cut out inside the Stitched Rectangle dies.

I just got this stamp set and I wanted to play with it right away. It’s a Distinktive stamp so all of that shading comes from the stamp. Since the flower is one stamp, I did have a few tries for stamping it. The one on Blackberry Bliss is actually stamped with Just Jade, I cleaned the stamp, and then I applied Magenta Madness to the flower portion using a sponge dauber and stamped it again. I love that it how it came out with a more Blackberry Bliss color. I also love the Stamparatus so I can do this. The Magenta Madness card is colored with the Stampin’ Write markers and I used the Stamparatus for it too.

I decided to play with my embossing paste on this card. I mixed a few drops of Gray Granite re-inker into a pile of embossing paste for the background. I also created the mask for the background by using the stones die from the Animal Friends dies.
The Let it Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper is just so cute. I love the little snowmen covered in glitter. I had a really hard time trying to get that glitter and the glitter in the shimmery crystal effects to show up on camera. The sentiment is double heat-embossed using white embossing powder and the Stamparatus.
I’m playing along with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge today.
I was trying to straighten up my crafting table and I was looking through my scrap giant pile bin. I found three card-front sized pieces of embossed whisper white. I also found some Mint Macaron die cuts. I thought they would be great on the latest sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I meant to use more of the die cuts but I glued everything down before I remembered to use them.
I think the Hedgehugs set is just so cute but I didn’t even notice the mushrooms until I made this card for today. I colored in the bird image and the flowers using the Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Real Red, and Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Markers. The rhinestones were colored with the Dark Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Marker but it may be hard to see the color.
