I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge today. I had a few of the silver embossed foliage on my table so I thought I would let those guide my card today. I also think I’m in love with the Layered Leaves Dynamic embossing folder. I popped the panel up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Best Wishes comes from Cake Soirée and I used the Classic Label punch and then put the label back in the punch to shorten it.
I knew I wasn’t going to get this post up in time to join the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches but I really liked the sketch so I’m using it anyway.
It’s another card using the gold foil envelope inserts from the Watercolor Christmas card kit. I made the original version of the card for the Shoebox Swap I had on the 9th and then tried the other two versions to see if I could tone down the shine some. It was really difficult to get a picture of it.
Here is another version using some black ink I sponged over the top of the gold foil.
For this last one, I tried the tarnished look using silver and copper embossing powders. I also cut the top panel 1/8″ smaller around than I intended but I think I like the thicker border.
The new Holiday Catalog just came out today (yay!) but demonstrators have been able to order since the beginning of August (one of the many perks to being a demonstrator). I also have an event called Demos Galore coming up and I’ve been working on many projects to debut there using the holiday products. Sooooo, I decided to put aside the holiday items today and create a card using a stamp set and paper that isn’t holiday related. Sometimes I just need to clean my palette so to speak. 🙂
And card #3 for the day. I think this one will be perfect for St. Valentine’s Day…hopefully I can find it then. 🙂
I based it on this sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches blog:
I was playing around with my new Watercolor Wash stamp using Watermelon Wonder ink on Watermelon Wonder cardstock. I didn’t like how that turned out for a background but I thought it would look good if I used the Sweetheart punch and put it on this card. Now I like it. 🙂
I used the retired Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. (I know, I know, you can’t find this anymore but I just love the Real Red and Coastal Cabana combo.)
I die cut a square out of the floral paper and backed it with the Crumb Cake polka dots. I was originally intending to make a shaker card but I forgot to put the acrylic on before the polka dot paper. Maybe I shouldn’t craft after nine. 🙂
