I’m fighting a cold so hopefully these photos make sense, I wasn’t sure I would get a project done.
This month for the Technique Squad Blog Hop, the theme is 3D. I don’t know about you but we take a family picture every year and I put it in an ornament…eventually. Now the places I pick up these ornaments don’t have boxes for said ornament so I usually use a 3 1/2″ square jewelry box. Unfortunately some years the ornament doesn’t fit so I need to make my own. Here is the box for this year. I didn’t want to do much decorating on the box because it will get get messed up in storage.
The top and bottom of the box go together exactly the same way, I just altered the dimensions. Overall this box is 3 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ x 1″ but I didn’t want the top to go all the way down so it has 3/4″ sides instead of 1″. If the lid doesn’t fit snug enough for you, decrease the length and width by 1/16″. If it’s too snug, increase the length and width by 1/16″. For the bottom, score each side at 1/4″, 1 1/4″, & 2 1/4″. For the top, score each side at 1/4″, 1″, & 1 3/4″.
