CASE’ing the New Catalog

One of the groups I belong to for Stampin’ Up! challenged us to CASE a card in the new catalog.  Sadly, I can’t show you the card I’m CASE’ing but it’s on page 44 when you do get to see the catalog.  🙂

Global Design Project #030 with Butterfly Basics

I really like the Butterfly Basics stamp set.  I think I need to get some more texture stamps for backgrounds because these are fun!  I’m playing along with the Global Design Project Sketch Challenge today.

Here’s my card:

and here is the sketch:

  1. Cut the Whisper White heavy cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″, scoring at 5 1/2″.
  2. Stamp the dashed line in Pool Party.
  3. Using the honeycomb stamp and Pool Party, stamp off once before stamping below the dashed line.  Repeat next to it.
  4. Stamp Happy Birthday in Rose Red.
  5. Using the Elegant Butterfly Punch and the Rose Red patterned paper from the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack, punch out a butterfly and attach next to the sentiment with the Fine Tip Glue Pen.
  6. Using the small flower stamp and Blushing Bride, stamp a few flowers.
  7. Add rhinestones on flowers.

Mojo Monday #442

I can’t believe it’s April already!  Where has the time gone?  I’m not complaining though, good-bye Winter, hello Spring!

Here is my entry for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch:

All of the patterned paper is from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack.  I cut the Old Olive background to 4″ x 5 1/4″.  The flowers paper is a 2 3/4″ square with a 1/16″ mat of Basic Black.  The Calypso Coral is 1 3/4″ x 3″ with a 1/16″ Basic Black mat.  The medium butterflies thinlet  and the small butterfly framelit were cut from Very Vanilla.  The small butterfly was from Butterfly Basics and stamped with Calypso coral ink before die-cutting.  The banner is a 3/4″ x 4″ finished size piece of Basic Black that I punched with the Banner Triple Punch.

Mojo Monday #437

I’m playing along with the Mojo Monday sketch challenge today.

Here’s my take on it:

and here’s the sketch:

I used the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack for the three patterned papers on the card.  The Old Olive one is cut at 4″ x 4″, the flowers at 2″ x  2″ and the Calypso Coral pattern is cut at 3 1/2″ x 3/4″.  I layered each piece with Basic Black using a 1/16″ border and adhered the panel to a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla.  The sentiment comes from Suite Sayings and I used the 1 3/4″ circle punch for both of the circle.  I finished it off with the Bitty Butterfly punch and the Rhinestones Basic Jewels.

Another January LOAD challenge layout

I’m doing pretty well at keeping up this January for the LOAD challenge on the Facebook Scrapbook LOAD Challenge group.  I’m up to #15 & #16.  For this one, I tried to only use current Stampin’ Up! products but I may have gone overboard on the number of items I used.  🙂

Occasions & Sale-a-Bration Workshop

I just thought I would pop in and show you what we made yesterday at my new catalog celebration workshop.

This card is a CASE of this card.  I just wish I had the black diagonal stripe from the Neutrals paper for the edge strip but this polka dot from Schoolhouse is cute too.  Just like on the linked page, I used the negative from the tree builder punch as a stencil to sponge on the largest clouds.

This card took me four tries to find a version I liked.  The idea was inspired by my upline’s upline (the woman who recruited the woman who recruited me).  I used the large die from the Rose Garden thinlets as a stencil to sponge the colors into the flower.  My first two variations didn’t have the black outline and one was a different color combination.  The third used the large die on the card also.  None of those was quite right.   I like how this one came out.
