After seeing a card made by Susan Campfield, I had to finally pull out my embossing paste and give it a try. I also had to dig through my not often used glitter to find my Dazzling Diamonds from likely 15 years ago. It seems to last forever. I used a Foil Snowflake as a stencil for the embossing paste and then covered it with the Dazzling Diamonds glitter. It’s so sparkly! (I also added a layer of polyurethane spray to keep the glitter in place, fingers crossed.)
Each month Rachel Tessman holds an event with her group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators usually on Facebook but a few time a year in person. These are the projects we created for the October Facebook gathering. These are such fun events!
We created a bendy card (I used the Stampin’ Blends on the rhinestones, pearls and white perfect accents)
and a treat topper. (The candy wrappers are saved from last year. My kids ate the left overs and saved all the candy wrappers for me to use again.)
I love getting my Paper Pumpkin kits in the mail each month. It’s fun to have a box of crafty goodness to play with that I didn’t design. This month it was a box of 10 shaker cards with leftover pieces! I can’t wait to see what November’s kit brings! If you want to join in the fun, just visit PaperPumpkin.com.
Here’s a card I created using some of the leftover pieces from the October kit. The snow at the bottom is just an edge I cut. I would have made a hat for the snowman but the card ran out of room. 🙂
This is what I created with the kit…
and this is what I had leftover!
Look at all those dimensional circles left, I need to make a few more shaker cards!
Using one of the Whisper White pieces, fold along the score lines and then die cut the oval and star shapes. Keep the oval piece.
Using Basic Gray, stamp sentiment on the front of the card under and to the left of the oval. Stamp the inside sentiment on the saved oval piece and punch out banner.
Die cut the star out of the silver foil.
Rub the Basic Gray cardstock with the Embossing Buddy. Using Versamark ink, stamp the star on the Basic Gray and then sprinkle with white embossing powder. Tap off any excess and heat with the heat tool. Attach to the back piece of whisper white.
Attach the silver star next to the oval using the fine tip glue pen.
Attach the pieces of DSP to the front of the card.
Using the multipurpose liquid glue, attach front and back whisper white pieces along the 1” fold.
Here is the card I demo’ed at Demos Galore way back on September 30th. I made a few versions of the same card because there are only two identical cards per pack. I started out with 2 packs of cards. Half of one pack I put in a 6 x 8 pocket page album so all of the cards could be seen and the others I used to make samples. The patterned paper in the background is a 4 x 6 card. I cut it to 3 x 5 1/2 and used the extra 1″ piece for the banner peeking out from behind the sentiment card.
