Picnic Paradise Paper Pumpkin, Take 2

The July 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit was still on my crafting table so I had to make a few more cards with it.  I wanted to use the Basket Weave Dynamic embossing folder, I think it really adds to the cards.  I also pulled in Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green, and Poppy Parade to use with the embossing folder.

Picnic Paradise Paper Pumpkin

I love getting my monthly Paper Pumpkin kit but sometimes it’s not exactly something I would use as is.   I think 3″ x 3″ cards are adorable but I can’t mail them in that form so I decided to change these to A2 size cards ( 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″).  All I did to change them was cut the 3″ x 6″ card base in half ( now I have two of them!), cut the tissue paper to use for background paper and add a Crumb Cake card base.  So easy and so cute!

This is what the kit was supposed to make:

Fun Things Happen When We Gather

Not long ago I got together with a few demonstrators over at Rachel Tessman’s house because Mackenzie was in town visiting.  It was a good enough excuse to gather and make some cards together.  I’d just driven back from our Spring Break trip to see family in Illinois so I didn’t have time to create a make & take to share but here is what some of the others created for us to make.

Rachel used the new Paper Pumpkin kit and a note card for her make & take.

Susan used the Myths & Magic suite for her card.

Vicki used a fun fold and the Petal Palette Bundle for her card.

More Wildflower Wishes Paper Pumpkin

For some reason I was blessed with two additional card bases in my Paper Pumpkin kit this month so I decided to create two more cards using some of the left over supplies.  I chose not to use the flower stickers on my envelopes but on the cards instead.

Wildflower Wishes Paper Pumpkin

I was playing around with the latest Paper Pumpkin kit.  I just love getting that monthly surprise!  This is what is intended for this month’s kit

With my eyes only getting older, I had a hard time seeing the words so I decided to try a couple of things to make them pop.

For this first one, I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker to line the insides of the letters.  The blue flowers are strategically placed over stray lines.  🙂

For this card I used a sponge brayer and Pool Party ink to darken the flower label.

For this one, I used the sponge brayer and Early Espresso ink to darken the word label.  This was my favorite and I finished the rest of my cards using this method.

I decided to use the flower stickers on my cards instead of on my envelopes, I liked the extra color.

Hot Chocolate Treat Card

Susan Campfield does a weekly Facebook live for her team and a few weeks ago she showed a treat holder that she modified one she saw from B.J. Peters.  I just knew I had to make it!  Partly because I still had some test tube treat holders left over from a past Paper Pumpkin kit and partly because it was just so cute.  Susan made hers with a penguin on the front using the Smitten Mitten bundle, I don’t have that bundle so I pulled out the Cookie-Cutter Christmas set.  I always have a tough time getting a clean image with such a solid stamp, I can’t wait until I get my Stamparatus!

The marshmallows are Jet-Puffed Marshmallow bits.  I colored in the rhinestones with a black sharpie (that somehow looks blue) and the dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend.  Since the little gingerbread man didn’t stamp so cleanly, I colored over him with a little Wink of Stella.

The Real Red is cut to 5″ x 9 3/8″ and scored along the long edge at 3 3/4″, 4 3/8″ and 5″.  Fold on the middle score line and cut two slits to the next score line so there is something to hold the test tube.  I used tear and tape between the 4 3/8″ and 5″ score lines because you want something strong.

Paper Pumpkin Extra for October

I love getting my Paper Pumpkin kits in the mail each month.  It’s fun to have a box of crafty goodness to play with that I didn’t design.  This month it was a box of 10 shaker cards with leftover pieces!  I can’t wait to see what November’s kit brings!  If you want to join in the fun, just visit PaperPumpkin.com.

Here’s a card I created using some of the leftover pieces from the October kit.  The snow at the bottom is just an edge I cut.  I would have made a hat for the snowman but the card ran out of room.  🙂

This is what I created with the kit…
