Could it get any cuter than this?! I was at Stamp Share this weekend (a gathering of demonstrators under Susan Campfield) and Rachel Tessman demonstrated how to make this adorable hedgehog. Well I had to google this right away and make my own.
Now if I could just figure out a way to glue down these intricate dies that Stampin’ Up! is coming out with lately. I LOVE them but I’m no good at adhering them.
The hedgehog is made with an oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits as the base and the top of the tree from the Beautiful Branches framelits (the other half of the Thoughtful Branches bundle) laid on top. The feet are a 3/4″ circle cut in half and the ears are cut from the Medallion punch. The face is made with the Sweetheart punch and the eyes and nose are from the new Cookie Cutter Builder punch in the Holiday Catalog that demonstrators get to order early. I’m also using the new Candy Cane Lane Designer series paper from the new Holiday Catalog. You are going to love it! Also, I inked all of the crumb cake pieces with crumb cake ink to give it a little more dimension.
I followed the sketch from Mojo Monday #461 for this card.
And here are two of the blogs that I found the hedgehog on.
I have a sick little boy home with me this week and he always wants me to craft while he plays video games or watches TV. It’s a good excuse for me to get some projects done, I need to make some Mother’s Day cards for the upcoming craft fair. 🙂
I can’t believe it’s April already! Where has the time gone? I’m not complaining though, good-bye Winter, hello Spring!
Here is my entry for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.
Here is the sketch:
All of the patterned paper is from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I cut the Old Olive background to 4″ x 5 1/4″. The flowers paper is a 2 3/4″ square with a 1/16″ mat of Basic Black. The Calypso Coral is 1 3/4″ x 3″ with a 1/16″ Basic Black mat. The medium butterflies thinlet and the small butterfly framelit were cut from Very Vanilla. The small butterfly was from Butterfly Basics and stamped with Calypso coral ink before die-cutting. The banner is a 3/4″ x 4″ finished size piece of Basic Black that I punched with the Banner Triple Punch.
I’m playing along with the Mojo Monday blog challenge again.
Here is my card:
It took me a while to decide which papers to combine with this sketch, my craft table is a mess. My first version just didn’t have enough contrast for me so I tried again. For the flower, I stamped off the base flower once before stamping on the piece of Whisper White.
I’m playing along with the Mojo Monday sketch challenge today.
Here’s my take on it:
and here’s the sketch:
I used the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack for the three patterned papers on the card. The Old Olive one is cut at 4″ x 4″, the flowers at 2″ x 2″ and the Calypso Coral pattern is cut at 3 1/2″ x 3/4″. I layered each piece with Basic Black using a 1/16″ border and adhered the panel to a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla. The sentiment comes from Suite Sayings and I used the 1 3/4″ circle punch for both of the circle. I finished it off with the Bitty Butterfly punch and the Rhinestones Basic Jewels.
