Splish, splash! Splish, splash! Anything water-related is the theme for this month! I’m not one to buy many water related stamp sets but Angie had posted some cards using the new A Little Smile card kit and it reminded me I had that stamp set. I was also inspired by a card made by Fiona Bradley that featured the Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper, it made me think of how sand and sea could be created.
For the sand I used the Early Espresso watercolor pencil and drew in some heavy lines, then I did the same with the Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana watercolor pencils for the water. Then I pulled out the flat water painter and spread the ink around.
The splotches in the are from a stamp in the Color & Contour stamp set. I used Crumb Cake ink, stamped on a scrap piece of paper and then stamped on my “sand”.
I used my Stamparatus to stamp the star fish and sentiment multiple times with Early espresso ink so I would get a nice dark image. I then stamped again using Versamark and clear embossing powder to give it some shine.
I would have taken pictures along the way but I wasn’t sure it would turn out.
