Joy of Sets Blog Hop

Welcome Spring! It’s finally getting warmer here and the snow is melting (walking the dog is a little messy). I’m joining in on this month’s blog hop with the Joy of Sets Blog Hop Facebook group.

For this card, I embossed the vellum, added adhesive all over the back, and then put it on a white cardbase. I used the vellum because my embossing folder couldn’t do the front of the card with the words going the right way, it doesn’t actually look like there is vellum there.

For the water lily, I die cut the outline 5 times out of white cardstock with an adhesive sheet on the back and layered them. I backed it with patterned paper, filled it with the fine-tip glue pen, and set it aside to dry. If you get bubbles in the glue, gently tap the card on your table and they should disappear. I added a second coat of the fine-tip glue pen once the first had dried but I didn’t tap gently enough and some of the glue spilled out. So…., I sprayed it with a mixture of shimmer paint and alcohol to give the whole card a shimmer to cover it up. Embellishment opportunity.

I got the idea for the stained glass look of the lily from my favorite, Jennifer McGuire.

Absolutely LOVE your card! This stained glass technique is perfect for these dies! Love how your little accident added to the beauty of the card. Thanks for the inspiration, JoAnn. It’s always a pleasure to hop with you. xx
