Beautiful Blizzard – Day 7

This was the card I demo’ed at Demos Galore to show how you can use the Blizzard thinlit to emboss instead of die cut.  We also made this card at my class last Saturday.

It’s really hard to see in the photo but the snowflakes were sprayed with shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol in a spritzer.

Sandwich for embossing: multipurpose platform on tab 1, white impressions pad, blue embossing mat, paper, die with cut side facing down, standard cutting mat.  If your snowflake isn’t embossing deeply enough, try putting an extra piece of cardstock under it.

I talked about how you can use the snowflakes and make a card like this one where I attached the snowflakes and then used the Subtle embossing folder.

Or you could make a card like this one using the negative space left over.

Or for this one I used the shimmer paint on the snowflake and it turned out more pearlized.
